Andersen Cooper Screwed It

Saw the Anderesn Cooper Hosted Republican debate at Reagan centre. It was totally & utterly biased, Huckabee & Ron Paul together would have got hardly 15 minutes of the 1&1/2 hrs of debate. Andersen totally screwd the debate & was very partial & asked stupid question, which really didnt matter to American. His questions were aimed at creating a fight between Mccain & Romney.It was not at all constructive.I guess Andersen was trying to beat Wolf Blitzers viewership rating for democratic debate. Media is wielding too much power over this presidential election. Looks like US media is the most powerful thing in the world. To reiterate Andersen Cooper is a self promoting, attention grabbing ego maniac. What ever he doe, whether it Katrina or Africa or Brazil, i dont think he is sincere....All he cares is about himself.....

The Great Indian Cricket Debacle

On 24th March 2007 India made an early exist from the world cup cricket tournament.The dreams of 1 Billion people and that of the advertisers & media were crushed. What went wrong?
4 years back they were the finalists and 4 years later they got beaten by minnows & couldnt even qualify for the super 8.

Lot of things stand out as sore points

1) Poor Selection :- Every one hailed the Indian selectors when they chose the team some months back.But the team was utterly flawed. It was supposed be a balance between experience & youth.But what it really was a bunch of Old men accompanied by unruly boys.

2) Captain:- Dravid is a good batsman & a nice gentleman,but he is not a good leader,he can be a good vice captain, but not a good captain. i think its time to give spirited young men the chance for leadership,like yuvraj. The selectors have to move away from their seniority rule for captainship.

3)BCCI:- BCCI should be made like a professional organization. What is sharad pawar or jagmohan dalmiya doing here. It should be managed by a ruthless CEO caring only for profits & customer satisfaction aka Indian cricket fans. politcis has to come out completely of it.

4) Player:- I put them among the last to take blame for the defeat.you know why? They knew they couldnt win. its the selectors who pushed them to do it.

30 going on 60

30 years from now no one nows what would happen.I am nearly 30 & the last 30 years & the events that happened felt like awful lot. How is the next 30 years going to be and how fast would it pass by. Just to put in perspective.10 years back I joined as a first year student in college and it seems like yesterday. If it continues the same way, it is just a matter of time & am sure a sudden realization would settle in when my hair goes grey & am already 60 and i would probably be the same me at heart. I always felt that people grow wise as they grow old and kind of a sagely aura sets in all old people. When i was young I thought a 30 year old was meant to be mature, wise & self reliant. As i am approaching 30 i dont really feel any difference between the 10 year old I was. I some time wonder if i could be taken seriously at all. The decisions that i make now is given respect, and I feel I am not doing anything different from what i would have made as a 10 year old.
If it stay the same i would be writing another blog which goes like 60 going on 90 and every word i said above may hold good.

Mango Tea

I went inside my office kitchenette to drink water and found the water drums empty.So I decided to make some tea to quench my thirst.As i filled the cup with Hot water from the coffee maker and was dipping the tea bag,I started to laugh.I was reminded of my visit to Tom's house last christmas.After visiting him,i was about to leave when tom said we have enough time for the train and that he would drop me at the station and I readily obliged.Meanwhile he took the onus on himself to make us all a cup of tea.Sing's family too was there for the get together.Tom asked all of us as to what tea would each of us like and offered us various options, Mango Tea,Regular,De-Caf etc.Mango Tea was something I never tasted,so opted for mango tea.I was thinking to myself,America has its on Tea tradition, and wondered how mango tea would taste.
As tom went inside the kitchen,we started talking about all sorts of things like politics, Real Estate,culture & so on.Tom would occasionally jump out of the kitchen to offer his two cents on everything we discussed.It was almost 20 minutes and i coukld lots of noise in the kitchen, of the tap,the vessels clanging, the clicking sound of the lighter.I was now getting excited about the Mango tea.Another 10 minutes passed by,if officially half an hour since Tom started preparing the tea.
Tom's wife shouted,"Tom, what are you doing?where is my tea? Vinay has to leave" and tom replied," I am done, I am coming".
So after half an hour tom came out of the kitchen with cups on the tray and served all of us our cup. And he kept the tray on the table, stood erect, and reached for his pant pocket. He looked at all of us now and asked,who asked for mango tea? When me & sing raised our hands, he pulled out all the tea bags in his pocket and said " here you go, heres your Mango Tea" handing us the tea bag.
I couldnt stop laughing, Half an hour for boiling water? and all those noise in kitchen? Where are we in mount Everest??
